In bread machine or mixer with dough hook (yes, you can do it with your hands), add flour, ONE CUP of water (reserve a quarter cup), yeast, salt, sugar, garlic powder, and olive oil.
Use dough cycle to mix for 5-6 minutes, until it forms into a ball that pulls away easily from the sides of mixing vessel. If it's not coming together, add a tablespoon of water at a time until it sticks together. If it's too sticky, add a bit of flour at a time until you reach your desired consistency. Cover and let rise in a warm spot (I just close the bread machine lid) for about 30 minutes, until it doubles in size.
Once the dough is ready, preheat oven to 450 degrees.
Grab your sheet pan and use a silicone baking mat, parchment paper, or a healthy spritz of cooking spray. Work the dough until it stretches to each corner. Use your fingertips to create a crust up the sides. Poke the dough with a fork several times.
Layer on sauce, toppings, and cheese.
Bake about 20 minutes. Check to see if the cheese is melted to your desired consistency. Return to oven in necessary.
When it's done baking, let it rest about five minutes before slicing.
